Son of the South
Bob Zellner (Lucas Till) ist Student des weissen Huntingdon College und lebt in Montgomery, Alabama. Er wächst in den 1960erJahren als Sohn eines methodistischen Pfarrers und als Enkel von J.O. Zellner (Brian Dennehy), einem Klansman, auf. Während die Bürgerrechtsbewegung vor allem im Süden der USA immer mehr Fahrt aufnimmt, muss er sich entscheiden, auf welcher Seite der Geschichte er stehen will. Seiner Familie und den weissen Südstaatennormen zum Trotz, tritt er der afroamerikanischen Bürgerrechtsbewegung bei und kämpft gegen soziale Ungerechtigkeit, Unterdrückung und Gewalt, um die Welt um ihn herum zu verändern.
