Billy Bathgate
Billy Bathgate stammt aus der New Yorker Bronx und dient sich schon mit 15 Jahren dem Unterweltboß Dutch Schulz an. Schulz, der eigentlich Arthur Fliegenheimer heißt, ist seit der Prohibition vor allem durch Erpressung zu einem der gefürchtesten Gangster aufgestiegen. Während seiner Lehrzeit erkennt Billy, dass sich die Methoden der Unterwelt nicht mit seinen Wertvorstellungen decken....
